★ Common Causes and Preventive Measures for Vehicle Oil Leakage Analysis ★
In the use of vehicles, oil leakage faults often occur, which directly affect the technical performance of the car, leading to waste of lubricating oil and fuel, consumption of power, affecting the cleanliness of the vehicle, and causing environmental pollution. Due to oil leakage and a decrease in lubricating oil inside the machine, poor lubrication and insufficient cooling of the components can cause early damage and even pose a hidden danger of accidents. 1、 The main reasons for common vehicle oil leaks are: 1. Poor product (accessory) quality, material, or craftsmanship; There are issues with the structural design. 2. Improper assembly at high speeds, unclean mating surfaces, damaged or displaced pads, or failure to install according to operating procedures and specifications. 3. Uneven tightening force of the fastening nut, broken or loose threads, etc. can cause work failure. 4. After long-term use, the sealing material will wear out beyond the limit, deteriorate due to aging, and become deformed and ineffective. 5. Adding too much lubricating oil, raising the oil level too high, or adding the wrong type of oil. 6. The joint surface of components (edge covers, thin-walled parts) bends and deforms, and the shell is damaged, causing lubricating oil to seep out. 7. After the ventilation plug and one-way valve are blocked, the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the box often causes oil leakage at the weak seal. 2、 Preventive measures for vehicle oil leakage: 1. Pay attention to the role of gaskets. The gasket between the components of the stationary parts of the car (such as the joint end faces, end caps, shells, cover pads, flat enamel cover plates, etc.) plays a leak proof sealing role. If the materials, production quality, and installation do not meet the technical specifications, it will not be able to achieve sealing and leak prevention, and even accidents may occur. Such as oil pan or valve cover, due to the large contact area, it is not easy to compact, resulting in oil leakage. 2. All types of fastening nuts on the vehicle must be tightened to the specified torque. If the gasket is not tightly compressed, it will leak; Being too tight can cause metal protrusions around the screw hole or cause the thread to slip, leading to oil leakage. In addition, if the oil drain plug of the oil pan is not tightened or loosened, it is easy to cause oil loss, which can lead to machine damage accidents such as "burning tiles and holding shafts". 3. Replace the failed oil seal in a timely manner. Many moving parts on the car, such as oil seals and O-rings, may experience oil spillage due to improper installation, resulting in misalignment between the shaft neck and the oil seal blade. Some oil seals may lose their elasticity due to rubber aging after prolonged use. Discovering leaks should be updated promptly. 4. Avoid blocking one-way valves and ventilation valves. This causes an increase in temperature inside the casing, filling the entire space with oil and gas that cannot be discharged, resulting in an increase in pressure inside the casing, increased consumption of lubricating oil, and shortened replacement cycles. After the engine ventilation system is blocked, it increases the resistance to piston movement, leading to an increase in fuel consumption. Due to the pressure difference between the inside and outside of the box shell, oil leakage often occurs at weak sealing points. Therefore, regular inspections, dredging, and cleaning of vehicles are necessary. 5. Properly solve the sealing of various oil pipe joints. Frequent disassembly and assembly of automotive coupling nuts can cause the threads to slip, break, and loosen, leading to oil leakage. Replace the union nut and use grinding method to solve its conical surface seal, so that the nut can be tightened to solve the seal. 6. Avoid wheel hub oil spillage. Excessive lubricating grease in the wheel hub bearings and cavities, or improper oil packaging, poor quality, and aging failure; Excessive hub temperature caused by frequent braking; Loose axle nuts and other factors can cause the wheel hub to shake oil. Therefore, the "cavity lubrication method (i.e. appropriate lubrication)" should be used to unblock the ventilation holes.
